Airshow
Organisation
In April 2003 West Sale Aerodrome, Victoria was host to the first
airshow to be held in the East Gippsland Region for quite some
time. Edge Aviation was contracted by the local Council to organise
the air display and ensure that all CASA regulatory requirements
were met and that the display was conducted in a safe and professional
manner. As a result of the success of this air display Edge Aviation
was commended by CASA as organising 'truly
one of the best regional Airshows held in Victoria for a very
long time' and that they 'hoped
Edge Aviation was commissioned to manage future Airshows'.
The airshow was a huge success and now forms a part of the Wellington
Shire Council's calendar of major events and will be held biannually.
For more information about the Wellington Shire and links to the
airshow site visit www.wellington.vic.gov.au
We are available to assist any Council, airport owner or corporate
body with any aspect of the organisation of such an event.
Edge Aviation is qualified to act in the capacity of official
Display Organiser and Display Co-ordinator as required under the
Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR157) and Civil Aviation Order (CAO
29.4).
We are able to fill these roles for you or provide expert advice
on the organisation of such a display and the regulatory requirements
that must be met in order to satisfy the Civil Aviation Safety
Authority that your event will be run in a safe and professional
manner giving the highest regard to the participants, the public
and property.
Airshows are always an excellent event for attracting visitors
to your town, city and aerodrome and often understated in their
popularity.

Accident
Investigation
We have also been involved in the investigation of several aircraft
accidents working in liaison with aviation insurance companies.
During this time we liaised with the Victorian State Coroner's
Office. Edge Aviation was contracted to conduct independent investigation
along with providing technical reports on the cause of the accident.
In some cases this revealed failure of critical components resulting
in further action on the part of CASA.
The proper investigation of any aircraft incidents and accidents
is important in determining the contributory factors relating
to any particular event. It may be that the accident occurred
as a result of a failed component for example, that may require
further action on behalf of the aircraft manufacturer or CASA
to ensure there is not further accidents or incidents of the same
nature.
